Media artist Roya Ebtehaj explores the syncretic digital cultures that have emerged due to the ways individuals interact with current media and consume information. Her work uses XR, 3D, animation, video, web, and print to create immersive media work that integrates 3D animation, digital video and installation.  Drawing inspiration from childhood memories during a lifetime of confronting the restrictions of state censorship and international sanctions, her work addresses immigration, borders, information control and forms of displacement, diaspora, trauma and alienation with humor and irony.
